than a carrier of bad tidings

I'd rather take a great leap in faith
than to sit around and wait

I'd rather be the echoes of goodwill
than be the air of discontent and standing still

I'd rather be a whisper of hope for all to hear
than to be constantly living in fear

I'd rather be the one who catch you when you fall
than to have seen you fall and not be of help to you at all

I'd rather be the one who stands up every time I fall
than be the person hiding behind a wall afraid to fall

I'd rather be the joy that makes you smile
than the pain that lingers for a while

I'd rather be the comforting words of hope
to help others try and cope

I'd rather be the voice of reasoning
than be the voice of discouragement

I'd rather be the lasting aura of positivity
than the evil forces of negativity
